Sleep Sounds – fall asleep fast, with 500 soothing recorded sounds from around the world [+ Giveaway]

sleepsounds2

Everyone needs a good night’s sleep, but it’s increasingly difficult to guarantee. It’s not just the caffeine, booze and late night game playing that does the damage, but also the high octane lifestyle that comes from living in the fast lane, you hipsters you.

Sleep Sounds is an iOS app which should hopefully help to redress the balance and help you get a good night’s sleep on demand. You can select from a wide range of emotive settings, including soft rain on a Bali rice terrace, rhythmic waves on a Portuguese pebble beach or evening crickets in the Australian outback. Who needs to travel?

The 500 clips are all naturally recorded, with no synthesized nonsense, which means they’re richer and realistic, which should help heighten the atmosphere and get you to sleep that much quicker. And you can pick up the whole pack for just $1.99 from the iTunes store.

[GIVEAWAY OFFER: The first 5 lucky commenters on the Ferret here will each receive a coupon to get a copy of Sleep Sounds completely free].

  • No Android version?

    • Now you’re causing me problems. Do you want a coupon or are you just complaining? And yes I’m a bit peeved it’s Apple only too. :)

    • No, it was just too much fun not to reply, and I did enjoy the irony: I always see these type of posts after the free offer is long gone, so this time, having the opportunity to be first? No Android… ;-)

On another note: I am surprised that you don’t have more comments more quickly. This is a great blog, and a daily stop for me. Of course, maybe it is possible that you attract followers of taste, class, and distinction, so there are few iOS users among them? :-)

    • Heh, definitely a mix of Android and iOS surprisingly. Ah well, maybe they’re all shy retiring types? :)

  • Looks peaceful!

  • Sounds soothing

  • its a good tool to have

  • 500 sounds! I’d like that!

  • Any idea how long the tracks are? I have tried similar apps/recordings, but the ones I have found use a short, repeating track that rapidly becomes annoying.

  • …aaand they’re GONE! :) Keep posting though folks, you never know, the developers may give us a few extra if they’re feeling generous.
