What could be better than spending five figures on an analog wristwatch made out of exotic metals, and hand crafted with care and attention? Well for the folks at Linde Werdelin, it’s adding on a couple of interesting accessories which turn the timepiece into something else entirely.
The Linde Werdelin Reef and Rock, are two digital clip on accessories that convert your very (and we mean expensive here) analog watch into a specialist utility for your particular extreme activity. The Rock product, as the name suggests, is for those who enjoy a bit of high adrenaline skiing.
The tool includes a temperature alert in cases of possible frostbite, a 3 axis compass, chronograph, an inclination sensor and avalanche alarm. Not only that but it will also record the details of your run for later review on your computer. Very state of the art. When you’re done, just unclip it, and you’re back to your elegant, show off poser watch with no-one the wiser. Marvelous.
The Reef gives you the same sort of specialist information, only for diving. And of course it’s waterproof. The add-on components cost 1200 (Rock) and 1800 (Reef) Swiss Francs and come in a range of colors as long as it’s yellow. We think. The most expensive watch will set you back around 42,500 CHF (around $48,142). Bargain.
