Stepz. Turn your mobile phone into a pedometer. Clever, clever, Java, clever. $4.99.
Stepz is a full-featured pedometer program. Use it during your walking/jogging exercise to keep track of time, distance traveled, energy consumed and current and average speed.
So how the hell does that work then???
According to the blurb it works by estimating your steps via a timer. I suspect that you program it with your average gait and stuff and it does the rest. I guess! :-)
That`s not a proper pedometer then. No breaks in walking with that software, so I`ll be waliking all damn day to get my 10000 steps.
I dunno, don’t take my word for it, maybe I’ve got it wrong. Maybe you tell it when you’re walking and when you’ve stopped for a donut? :-)
Red is correct. You enter your average gait like in a real pedometer, and calibrate pace (steps/second) before or during the exercise. You press a key when you start walking, you press a key when you stop for a donut. If you try the free demo, you’ll see that it’s very simple.
Granted, the real pedometer senses starting/stopping automatically, but it doesn’t cost 4.99 and you can’t make phone calls on it. And then there’s the coolness factor…
…aboslutely, the coolness factor. :-)
