FakeTV – may save your real TV and other bits you value from going walkies

Usually the ‘as seen on TV’ set of products is full of a lot of nonsense that no one needs, but every so often a product arrives which actually seems to make a bit of sense.  For instance this little light box may save a family losing all their valuables, and even save their lives.

The FakeTV is a little box which mimics the look of a running television, using LED lights which beam out into the empty room. Many people leave their TV running or set it on a timer when they leave the house to give the impression that they’re still home when they’re actually laying on the beach or just out for the evening. But not everyone wants to leave their flat screens on for days on end. Plus, what happens when the channel goes to nothing but snow? Or the cable cuts out?

Enter Fake TV. This little box, much smaller than an actual TV, dims and brightens just like there are scene changes and commercials and the latest model has been upgraded to mimic a full 40 inch flat screen TV. It’s a fairly simple idea and may go a long way to keeping you from returning to a home filled with less than what you had when you left. You can purchase the FakeTV model FT-11 for $39.95. Smaller models are available. It can’t hurt and it might help.

  • I love the part with the woman with a baby, seeing the neighbor’s house across the way being burglarized, and she just smiles and things “Thank goodness, it wasn’t us!”

    • That’s what you call being real neighborly, right? :)
