Once upon a time we didn’t have all these fancy doo-dads. We were lucky if we could play with a paper box and some sticky tape, and that was on special days only. Now we’ve got all the toys in the world, and it seems we can’t stop making even more of them.

Take this Projecteo for instance. This is a tiny tiny battery powered projector which has one purpose in life. To beam your Instagram photos onto the nearest flat surface. That’s right, nothing more. You select the photos you wish to immortalize, and upload them to the service (by connecting your Instagram account), and once you’ve done that the Projecteo elves will create a cute little image wheel and send it to you to plug into your projector.

Does it sound familiar? It should do, since it’s very close in concept to the old View-Master product, which used to thrill people back in the ’60s. Anyhoo, that’s enough nostalgia for now, moving on. The little wheels you get contain your images on film, and while we’re not told how much a wheel costs to create on its own, we do know that a projector and single wheel will cost $34.98 to buy. Oh my goodness, it’s all so so arty!
