GPS is a bit of a miracle when you think about it. Here we are with the ability to strap a satellite to our wrist and make sure we can locate where we are anywhere on the planet. Completely mind-blowing. And it’s even cooler when you can do it without lugging a smartphone around, as with this new GPS Watch Tracker thing.
This little gadget works with both GSM mobile signals and GPS satellite, to track the wearer wherever they trot. It works on quadband signals (850/900/1800/1900MHz). You can send the watch an SMS (you slot in a suitable SIM card) to trigger tracking data, which can then be displayed on a computer or smartphone map, and it can also be set to trigger alarms using electronic leash functionality.
The device is accurate down to 5 meters, and has a standby time of around 140 hours. The product comes with a USB charge cable, charge block, and a user’s manual and costs $69.
