Misfit Shine – it’s like an overly attached girlfriend of wearable fitness devices

Misfit Shine on wrist

There are a ton of fitness bands and tracking apps on the market today. It makes sense to combine our digital world with the fitness world, so it’s no surprise to find that the marriage of working out and technology has spawned all types of apps and product to do just that. The Misfit Shine is one such product, and keeps track of your health, waking and sleeping.

Besides its super cool name (it sounds a bit like an anime title), the Misfit Shine is actually really pretty. It helps you track your goals, walking, swimming, jogging, or whatever else gets you moving, and glows as you progress towards your goals. There’s also an app side that helps you see your progress over time as well as displaying general data.

This little watch, yes, it can be used as a watch, is waterproof and doesn’t need to be recharged, instead it has a battery that lasts for 6 months at a time. Which is great since the device also tracks your sleeping habits. Basically, it doesn’t miss anything. It’s like the overly attached girlfriend of wearable fitness devices. It also comes in a variety of colors so if black on black isn’t your look, you can go for something a little less ominous. The Misfit Shine is $84.26.

Donyae’s love for technology is based on a need to survive our future robotic overlords. Know thy enemy as you know yourself. But since even odds are on the zombie future, she has also learned how to prepare squirrel. You can find her on Facebook until the robots – or zombies – rise up.
