Cleerk – the search engine that finds buyers for you

There’s a ton of services around which help you sell your stuff. Everything from eBay to Craigslist and beyond. But this is the first time we’ve ever seen a service which promises to find some buyers for your item, before you have even listed it on a classified sales ad. Clever idea.

Cleerk is a reverse search engine which works by scraping together all the buyers in your area who have posted ‘wanted’ adverts in classified services like Craigslist, Gumtree, etc. It’s not offering anything that you couldn’t do yourself, but this one is doing it much better, faster, cheaper, longer.

The search results are a simple list of buyers looking for your kind of stuff, and all you have to do is click through to the advert and you can contact the buyer directly. The one thing to remember of course, is that anyone advertising to buy a product ‘any condition’, is likely to be a dealer and you’re definitely not going to get top dollar. But if you’re happy with selling it quickly and easily, rather than maximizing your cash, then this is a pretty cool service.

And we do like the Alerts system, which lets you set an alert so if anyone is looking for something you want to sell, you’ll get notified. It’s also very cool that the service is international from the start, so it can cope with a lot of locations around the world. And who knows, it may spawn a whole new raft of buyer – seller satisfaction out there.
