What the Font – get your typography game on point

What the Font

The internet is full of really cool fonts. They’re on websites, motivational web posters, everywhere. You’re looking at a font right now! I know, crazy right? If you’ve ever found yourself wondering what customs fonts are called so you can get them for your own projects, What the Font can help.

What the Font is an older site but more relevant now than ever. Many people are playing with typography to make their own sites, design their own fliers, etc. As more people gain access to graphic art technology, they want to do more with it. What the Font lets you upload a picture of a font that you like and spits out a font name, if it’s able to find it.

If it can’t find it (as was the case with my sample because I didn’t have a very good one) then it will give you a list of possible matches for the font. It’s best to have a clear and isolated picture for use. This is great for building a library of fonts to use in your own work. The site is connected to My Font so in many cases, you’re just one click away from claiming it for yourself.

What the Font is a free website.
