Let’s take a minute to comtemplate life, shall we? We have smartphones, we have smart cars, we have ultra high resolution cameras. But one thing we’re still desperately in need of is apparently the ability to take better and better photos of ourselves, because… well… narcissists.  But fear not courageous seeker after truth, for the solution has arrived, and it will deliver all you require of a gadget of purpose.

This Amkov JQ1 Selfie Camera connects to any WiFi enabled smartphone wirelessly using a special free app, and once connected you get the choice of either pointing it at your target freehand, or attaching it to the phone to do more conventional point and shoot. The thing sports a 14 megapixel resolution, 5 x optical zoom and 4 x digital, and features a 900mAh battery which will keep it powered for long enough to capture that perfect shot of your chin.

The camera comes with an 8GB memory card included, and will shoot video at full HD (although from the specs it looks as though you’re limited to 200 ISO). There’s also a mic buried in there somewhere to give you all that audio glorious you may need. The whole shebang comes in at $99.99.
