Pith.li – the highlighter for the digital age

highlighted page

One of the issues with sharing articles on the web is that even if you only want to share a section or a few lines, unless you copy paste it, you’re sort of stuck sharing the entire piece. This is especially an issue for long form and academic writing. Pith.li is a highlighter for the internet.

Pith.li is a highlighter. A yellow one. Instead of working on paper though, it works online. You drop the desired url into the Pith.li site and it creates a clean text version that you can mark up just like you do at work/school. Which is probably a more useful system than just saving the page for future reference.

This simple tool is especially useful for anyone who has to research online (like students and writers like yours truly) as a way to keep their sources organized. Or simply for sharing with others. It’s great at picking out contact information or notable portions of text. The site is currently in beta and you can request a beta invite.
