Dimple IO – the NFC sticker that adds two or four buttons to your smartphone

The whole NFC tech may be taking a while to take off properly, but there’s no doubt that it has some really useful functionality. If you’ve ever used it to instantly pair with a Bluetooth accessory or to trigger some action on an app and tool, then you’ll know what we mean.

These new DIMPLE.IO stickers offer a great way to use NFC to add new buttons to your smartphone, which you can program to do different actions. So, for instance, you can launch and application, access a website (or app), switch on the flashlight function etc, just by pressing the button on the back of your phone.

The sticker buttons are supposed to cope with millions of clicks, so the thing will probably last longer than your phone will – or at least the battery – and because there’s no battery involved there’s no need to worry about recharging and stuff. The only thing is the product won’t work on metal backed phones like the HTC One. There are two versions available – and an Android app – priced from $18.
