UAG Military Grade Cases – ultra tough, military grade protection for your gadgets

It’s crazy how much we rely on our portables nowadays. Smartphones are probably more important to us than just about anything else, so it makes sense to give them complete protection if we can. The trouble is, most cases are not really fit for purpose in that regard, especially if you’re one of those who spend a lot of time doing outdoor or sporty stuff.

But now there’s a way to deliver some serious protection to your precious devices, taking them up to military specification ruggedness where it counts. Urban Armor Gear cases are seriously designed to be tough, and are fully compliant with MIL-STD-810G 516.6. What does that mean? Well for one thing they have to be able to withstand being dropped 26 times from a height of 48 inches on each face, corner and back. With no damage to the touchscreen or suffering any operating problems.

The cases are available for different mainstream devices, including of course iPhone and iPad, as well as Samsung and HTC gear. There’s also a version for the Microsoft Surface range, although why you’d want to Mil-Spec a Microsoft product while it’s running the distinctly un-rugged Windows operating system is a bit of a mystery. Ouch!

You also get a nice set of colors to choose from, and while the design is not exactly what we’d call elegant, it definitely doesn’t look ugly. You’re just adding a significant degree of testosterone to your devices, and for some people that’s a perfectly acceptable trade-off. The products are priced from around $39, depending on product.
