We all associate places with memories, whether it’s where we first met our partner, or the time we made a complete fool of ourself after a party. Now, for those more romantic folk among us, there’s an online service which gives you a way to create a lasting piece of art to commemorate the important places in your life.

Mapiful is a brand new Swedish service which lets you create a printed poster of a map location, complete with a nicely styled format and custom wording.

You can set the map poster to be portrait or landscape, and zoom the map to just the exact place you want. Once you’ve got it set, added your preferred size and theme and entered in your custom text, you can place the order for the poster to be printed and sent to you. Shipping is free in certain countries.

The result looks great, although we would have liked an option to add a marker pin to specify exactly where we fell of our bicycle on the way to our wedding. But nit-picking aside, this is a great gift idea, and one that we suspect people will take to. The poster costs $60.
