Welcome!

Welcome to the Red Ferret Journal – tantalisingly tasteful, tacky and taut tech trivia.

Just noticed the other day (thanks RC) that if you do a Google search for ‘free legal music’, our wiki comes out No 1 from around 29 million pages! That’s pretty cool, no?

It also means we have a fun time keeping it link spam clean, but hey, that’s the joy of the Internet isn’t it?

Anyway we’re hoping to upgrade it to a more secure and feature rich page soon, so if anyone has any great suggestions as to what we can do to make even more useful to the world at large, please let me know. One of the things exercising my attention at the moment is whether to move each of the categories onto separate pages, since the single page format is getting very large now.

I’m also debating whether to add Google ads to the section in order to help it pay its way in the future as it becomes even more popular than No 1. Clearly there’ s limit to how big it can grow before it becomes too unwieldy to use properly, but hopefully we’ve got a long way to go yet before it becomes Yahoo!-ized. In the meantime, if you haven’t visited in a while check it out, as people have been adding some rather cool sites. The non-english section, for instance, is really out there!

Oh, and if any kind souls would like to volunteer to help moderate and maintain the page along with Blue and Red, don’t be shy. There’s not a lot to do except keep it tidy, clean up after any silly kids and watch out for link spam slime.

Ta ra!
