The Equil uses a combination of a smartpen and a sensor in order to capture your information. It works with any whiteboard surface, all you need to do is attach the sensor and use the smartpen, which holds a normal dry erase marker. As you write notes, the information will appear on whatever device you have connected as you work via Bluetooth connection.
