Reword – a handy tool in the fight against cyber bullying [FREEWARE]

Girl on computer

Cyber bullying is a huge problem. People, especially young people, say things online not realizing how terribly harmful these statements may be and to make matters worse, it’s hard to really monitor these things. Sure you can find out after someone sends a hateful message but there’s no way to stop it. Reword is a tool to help people think before they send.

Reword is an add-on currently for Chrome but with development in the works for other browsers. When someone types in a harmful word or phrase, the add-on strikes it out with a red line. It doesn’t stop them from sending the message, in case there is a legitimate, not harmful reason for them use the offending language.

Reword is still learning and the more people who use it and identify phrases and terms can help the app be even better. Though the target is young people on the net, sometimes we can all use a little bit of help with our online communication. If you have a young person on the net or if you just want to make sure you do no harm, Reword is free for Chrome.
