PodRide – the all-weather e-bike

PodRide alone

Everyone can agree that biking is one of the most earth-friendly ways to get around but it’s not always possible if the weather isn’t great. Wouldn’t it be nice to ride your bike in all weather? One man thought so too so he created the PodRide, an all-weather bicycle.

This bicycle doesn’t actually look like a bicycle, it looks like a toy car but that’s just the fabric cover. Underneath of that that, it’s pretty much a standard e-bike. The fabric is waterproof to keep you dry and comfortable during your commute. It also has studded tires to deal with snowy roads. There is also a little heater inside to help defrost the windows on chilly days.

Although it has a motor and you sit at the same height as a car, it is not a car and can be driven (ridden?) on bike paths in most countries and you don’t need a driver’s license. There’s a “trunk” for bags and if you need more space (or want to bring your kids) you can hook up a bike trailer. This compact all-weather biking solution is currently on Kickstarter.
