The internet is a great place to learn many things and there was a time when places offered full courses for free but it seems that now, you have to pay for everything. Don’t despair though, there are still some places on the internet where you can get your personal enrichment on for no money down. Here’s a list of three of them.
1. Duolingo
This is a great site for learning new language in just a few moments a day, all for free. The website has a nice, easy to use interface and an active community to help you in your language goals. You can work on the go with use of the phone app and it’s 100% free.
2. Coursera
This website is really, really deceptive. When it started, it was all free, all the time. Now if you check it out, you’ll see that it asks for payment for the classes. Don’t despair! You can still take the courses for free and gain all the information and skills.
Search for the individual classes you’re interested in and sign up for “audit only”. You won’t have access to all of the graded material but you can still view the videos and do the activities.
Interested in learning how to code to maybe get a job in the field one day? The structured lessons will guide you through the process of learning a variety of languages and ends in a capstone project so you leave with something tangible in your portfolio.
