Onrelay

In amongst the flurry of mobile handset announcements yesterday from the CommunicAsia mobile telecoms show, was a little gem from Nokia which flew in under the radar. The company has just announced a deal with OnRelay to market and supply the MBX convergent PBX mobile phone tech to corporate customers. This is super clever stuff which basically lets you seamlessly route mobile calls to and from your office switchboard on demand, even if you’re roaming 5000 miles away. How to still be on ext. 34 when you’re sitting on a peddle boat in the middle of Lake Cuomo.

You have only one phone number, your office number. When someone calls your office extension, it simultaneously rings at both your office phone and your mobile phone. You can also easily configure the system, using your mobile, to only ring at desk phone or only ring at mobile. A detailed Calling Line Identity is displayed on your mobile – even though the call is routed through the PBX. You can choose where to pick up the call, and you never again need to manually forward your desk phone. You will also never again need to forward your mobile to your PBX voicemail. If you turn your mobile off, when you turn it back on you receive a full missed call indication of all missed calls.
