Smart Tactile Paving – stop lights for pedestrian smartphone users

Smart Tactile Paving with phone

We’ve all done it, walked down the street while staring at our smartphones. Maybe we were playing a game, maybe we were reading emails, it doesn’t matter, with our noses stuck to the screens, our chances of getting into an accident goes up by like a lot. Smart Tactile Paving is a simple solution that can help keep everyone safer since simply not walking and while using smartphones is totally out of the question.

All joking aside, people really do get hurt when they are “texting and walking”. Most of these injuries just hurt their pride (like running into a pole) but some of them are pretty serious such as walking into an intersection when you don’t have the light. This paving system puts traffic lights on the ground where smartphone users can see them.

Smart Tactile Paving alone

This is still mostly an idea at this point but if implemented, it could go to making the world a lot safer for pedestrians who can’t seem to keep their eyes off of their cell phones. Check out the website for more info.
