AllPeers. Yes yes, we know we’ve done rather a lot of photo sharing services lately [too blooming many – Ed], but is it our fault that the world and his camera has gone all digitaphilic? Sheesh! Anyhoo, this one is recommended by Ferrety reader Rob, so we’ll go with it OK? It’s a free P2P photo sharing service. Did we mention that?
Like most modern P2P networks, AllPeers Network is multitiered, with certain clients acting as hubs that link together the remaining nodes. Hubs are responsible for routing data in cases where nodes are not able to communicate directly due to firewall or NAT issues. Hubs also serve as a cache for network data, meaning that resources are accessible even when the user who created them is not connected to the network.
