SanDisk 1 Terabyte SD Card – in the future our cameras will hold more than laptops

sandisk-1-terabyte

It’s always really funny to see a side by side photo comparison for how our technology has changed. Like a shot of a stack of floppy disks vs one SD card. Well, tomorrow’s photo comparison might be your laptop next to one SD card. SanDisk has just announced it’s 1 Terabyte SD Card.

This thing is huge, data-wise. Actual size wise, it’s a standard SD card that can be used in cameras and the like. Obviously, it’s great that you’ll be able to take as many pictures as you can before your battery dies or film hours of video but at the same rate, you can never hope to fill this thing up in a single sitting. And if you did, could you imagine the literal hours it would take to sift through all that media to get to the good stuff?

This is still in the prototype stage so you can’t buy it yet and when it comes out, it will likely be super expensive. Still, it’s pretty neat to see how far we’ve come when it comes to our technology.
