Polygon – the origami spoon

polygon-in-use

You know what a spoon is. It’s likely the first utensil that you learned to use and have been using since. Spoons are nothing new, we use them to eat and measure, and they haven’t been updated in thousands of years. Polygon is fixing that by making the spoon, modern.

This spoon starts off as a completely flat object but when you pick it up, you fold it, and it creates a spoon of different sizes that you can use to measure out cooking ingredients. At first glance, it’s like, why? Spoons work really well for this sort of thing as is.

The magic is when you release this origami spoon. It goes back to flat, which you can then use to scrape sticky ingredients off on the side of the bowl, like you would if you were using a knife. So useful to ensure you’re getting all the ingredients you need. It also just looks cool and futuristic. You can order your own through Kickstarter, $12 gets one set of spoons.
