Babee on Board – help pregnant women get off their feet on the train

Public transportation is hard on pregnant ladies. Especially during rush hour when seats are at a premium. Seeing this issue, the Babee on Board app was created to help make sure pregnant ladies had a seat on the bus.

This app is actually two apps. One allows you to request a seat while the other lets you offer your seat. The person who needs a seat taps the app which works via Bluetooth making it functional underground for trains and subway riders. It sends a notification to phones with the partner app on it in a 15 foot radius so people can offer their seat.

It’s a fairly simple app and there’s no obligation to give up your seat but if you’re inclined to be a nice person, there’s an app for that. I do wish that it was opened up for more uses such as for the elderly and people with disabilities which may not always be visible. Still, it’s an interesting app for social good. It’s only available for iPhone though. Babee on Board is free.
