Synthetic Sensor – the future of smart homes might be one simple plug in

The future is smart homes, at least that’s what all the gadgets and gizmos coming down the docket these days point to. The idea of switching over to a fully connected living space can be overwhelming, that’s a lot of connected things but you may not need all that. The Synthetic Sensor is a single plug that turns a whole room “smart”.

This single plug in will monitor the entire room. It is able to track a number of things like vibration and sounds as well as temperature and electromagnetic noise. It can tell you when the microwave door is ajar or wif the faucet is running.

This one sensor can give feedback on a “normal” home without the need of a thousand different connections. It is based in machine learning and is getting better at tracking the home every day. For people who are overwhelmed with the amount of connected “things”, this small sensor may provide an easy alternative to the future of connected homes. Or you can just keep using your non-smart appliances. Up to you. It’s currently still under development.
