Smog Free Project – the future of clean air may be smog sucking bikes

Smog is a major problem for many cities. Particularly places that rely on cars over public transportation. Unfortunately, all of these emissions end up in the air and then it’s into the lungs of the citizens. Studio Roosegaarde built an awesome smog tower and wants to introduce smog filtering bikes next with the Smog Free Project and you can help by buying jewelry.

The first leg of this was fairly normal. The company built smog towers that sucked up dirty air and then released clean, breathable air. Like a vacuum but then there was the question of what to do with all of the garbage they were removing from the air. So they made rings, which is a logical next step I suppose. These rings are topped with cubes filled with the toxic matter pulled from the air. If air pollution jewels aren’t your thing, this company has even more ideas.

Future plans include creating bikes that will filter the air as you peddle. These mobile air cleaning units will help cut down on creating more emissions and help clean the air in places that the towers can’t be installed. Currently this project is in China but they are making plans to expand to India as well.
