TRI-Analyzer – this phone attachment can save lives

Our smartphones are getting better and better but this doesn’t just mean that we’ll be able to browse social media faster, it means real progress in the fields of medicine and health as we are beginning to see more diagnostic tools cropping up that rely on this technology. The TRI-Analyzer is one such device that can change the face of healthcare for people.

The transmission-reflectance-intensity analyzer is usually a very large machine that is used to analyze blood, urine, and saliva of patients to help make a diagnosis. This much smaller version converts the camera on your smartphone into a spectrometer. With this tool, doctors can perform three of the most common lab tests.

This is an awesome invention as it would allow for doctors to give treatment to people in disasters or otherwise out of the way locations where lab testing is not available. This could save lives and all for just $550 apiece. You can read more about it on the website.
