SpotMini – Boston Dynamics’ new robot is very smooth

By now you’ve heard of Boston Dynamics, the company that will be responsible for building or future robot overlords. Well good news for those who love robots, they’ve got a new one out and it looks better than ever. The SpotMini is a surprisingly lifelike four-legged machine.

In the teaser for it, you don’t get to see much. Just it’s very smooth gait and its headless gaze as it stops to look in the camera. It’s very sleek, unlike earlier versions of their robots and it moves like an animal. It looks cat like but it’s movements can best be described as trotting.

Its shell is bright yellow and it’s all electric. That’s pretty much all we know about this machine. The company hasn’t released any further information but if you’ve been following the evolution of their projects, it’s sure to be exciting. Check out the short video below to see it in action.

Donyae’s love for technology is based on a need to survive our future robotic overlords. Know thy enemy as you know yourself. But since even odds are on the zombie future, she has also learned how to prepare squirrel. You can find her on Facebook until the robots – or zombies – rise up.
