Cat Attack. Not yer ordinary plain vanilla cat toy, this, oh no. This kitty cavorter incorporates ‘algorithms modeled upon the neural network of a real mouse, providing random and unpredictable movement that captivates, intrigues and incites cats’. Oh and it’s also got a pom-pom. Around $20.00.
The Cat Attack uses the latest research in chaos theory and complex systems to emulate the movements and personality of a cat’s favorite prey. This “virtual mouse” technology utilizes algorithms based on a six-dimensional coupled nzmap system modeled on the neural network of a real mouse.
I’ve got one of these. I bought it about 9 months ago. It’s cool, really. When I fire it up, my cat scampers around, attacking that dang thing over and over again.
The only bummer of it is that my cat gets scared if I use the remote to move the base around. The wheels make a lot of noise when it moves, and, usually, a cat in attack mode, gets freaked out by that kind of noise. I think my hardwood floors make the noise worse, though, so if you have some other floor material (not thick carpet, I think the fibers would get caught up in the wheels), you might have a better experience.
The dang pom really does move around randomly, and it drives the cat batty (in a good way).
Gorgeous cat. :-) Nice feedback too. Thanks. I wonder what the effect of the machine plus catnip would be? Hmm….
