Micro processor.

Timsp430

OK, so let me get this straight. Texas Instruments has just launched it’s new ultra low power micro-controller, the MSP430F20xx. So it’s a 16 bit, 16 MIPS unit with 128kB of RAM in a 4×4 mm – yes millimetre – footprint. 16 MIPS? Good grief, my desktop had a lower spec than that a few years ago.

  • Er, the spec sheet for this ultra low power microprocessor indicates 128 bytes of internal RAM, not 128 kB.

  • Hmm…now I’m not sure. According to this document (PDF), it can be configured with ‘up to 128kB’. I’ll check and post back. :-)

  • According to them what knows, it is indeed only 128 B. Mea culpa! Sorry. :-)
