JJR/C Elfie+ – The $56 Mavic Air? [REVIEW] Test + Coupon

The new Mavic Air costs a lot of money, but works great and shoots amazing footage. However: are there alternatives out there that are any good?

This is the JJR/C Elfie+ drone. It comes in a very nice case with three batteries. Besides the batteries you get extra propellers and a screwdriver. As you might have seen on the picture above, the controller is a bit weird. It’s a one handed, motion controlled, controller. So if you veer the controller to the left, the drone will go to the left as well. Pretty cool, but not that easy to learn. After you get the hang of it, it’s great to use.

Off course you can also use the app and connect the drone via Wi-Fi to your phone. This works great, is intuitive and you have a live view. About that live view: there’s indeed a camera on this drone. And for a bit more than 50$, you shouldn’t be expecting a lot. They say it’s 720p, but it looks pretty bad. The colours are off and it’s choppy because of the low bitrate.

VERDICT

The Elfie+ looks nice, has a lot of accessories in the box and does the job if you’re a beginning drone-pilot. If you want to use the footage for your daily vlogs, you’ll probably be dissapointed, but you won’t lose a lot of money either! Again, this is a good starters drone, but not for daily filming. We also have a discount code on the drone: coupon code: OR1520 ($8). If you want to order anything else from RC Moment, here’s a 10% discount: A3748.

You can find the drone here.
