The new Pure Digital DTM-300 is being billed as a full multifunction slimline Hi-Fi system. Why? Well, it’s got both DAB digital and FM analogue radio, an iPod input socket (but what doesn’t, dear?), plays MP3s, CD/RW, has an alarm clock and remote control and features an integral LCD for scrolling text like news, song titles, sports etc. My personal view is that digital radio sucks. But what do I know? £189.99.
From the world leaders in DAB digital radio comes DTM-300 – the slimline micro system that delivers superb audio from a single compact unit. With vertical CD player enabling a stylish slimline design, DTM-300 sits neatly on worktops or narrow shelves. Its integrated speakers and infrared remote control get rid of cables and allow you to sit back and enjoy the music.
I’m surprised how ugly Pure have made this device, compared with the rest of their range. It looks like a gimmicky DIxons ‘own-name’ product. Having said that, if it sounds as good as other Pure DAB radios (I’ve got two), I’d consider buying it. It’s be especially nice if it had a slot to play music from SD cards, such as one might have recorded on the Pure Bug radio…
Agree totally Ian, this is just about the ugliest bit of consumer tech I’ve seen for a while. Of course it could just be that their promo shot looks like it’s been taken by a 12 year old with an Instamatic camera on a cloudy day in a coal hole. With an old tatty table as a prop. Sheesh!
