The BEST Microphone Setup for Youtube!

If you want to make top quality videos, there are three things you’ll need to have: good content, hd videos and especially good sound. You might not know this (or you probably do), but a video with terrible sound and 4K footage will be way less attractive than a video with good sound and 720p footage.

If you’re new to microphones, you probably think they’re always very expensive if you want a good one. Well, that’s not the case actually. This Yeticaster bundle comes in at 200$ and is not only a microphone, but also an arm to mount it to the table (which you’ll need) and a shock mount to absorb noises.

Blue Yeti Microphone

The Blue Yeti Microphone is top of the league in it’s price category. It’s design is very sturdy and modern and the sound quality is top notch. You can change the patters, which makes it more versatile and the sound is very deep with a lot of bass. There are really no negative things to say about this microphone, it holds up over the years and is still going strong in the microphone game. Only thing I could say is that you have to add the audio to the video in post production, but that’s the same with every USB or XLR microphone.

Blue Compass Arm

The Blue Compass Arm is again very well designed and looks great. However, I had some issues setting this up and keeping it in place. The arm tends to go up when you don’t turn the knobs enough. It could also be a bit more versatile: I sometimes miss out on turning the microphone in different directions, but overall it’s a very good solution for this package.

Blue Radius III Shockmount

The Shockmount is a no-brainer. It isolates the microphone from noise, shock and ambient vibrations. It works very well and is just easy to setup.

VERDICT

Overall the Yeticaster package is a must have when you want to get professional on Youtube. Sound is very important and the Blue Yeti does everything right. It takes a while to play around in Audacity to find the right gain, but once that’s on point, the sound is top notch with a lot of bass and very clear. You can find the Yeticaster here.
