Electric cars are great at cutting down the harm done emissions from cars for a better, greener tomorrow. Nissan wants to take it even further by utilizing the batteries to charge and power more than just cars. They will begin testing LEAF electric vehicles to give power back to homes and offices with the Nissan Energy Share.
This plan uses the energy stored in the LEAF to power homes, offices, and even dump it back into the grid while still leaving drivers with enough “in the tank” to get where they need to go instead of leaving the energy just sitting there, unused.
The power can be used during emergencies where grid power is lost or just to offset costs during the peak usage hours. This is just being tested for now in three sites but if it’s a success, this could make electric cars an even brighter prospect for many. Check out the link for the full graphic.
