The Tiny Desert West USB-C Hub

It’s difficult to find a good an cheap USB-C dongle for your Mac, but I think I finally found one!

PROS

  • Cheap
  • Very durable and cool design
  • Works well and fast
  • Lightweight

CONS

  • No SD-card slot

VERDICT

The Desert West USB-C dongle works as advertised: you plug it in and you get three full sized USB-A inputs and one extra USB-C input. I’ve tried a lot of dongles in the past and had many issues, but the Desert West actually performed very well. I had no issues plugging in two hard drives. I also tried plugging in a usb-flash drive from Toshiba and that worked very well.

The biggest issue is that I couldn’t plug in an SD-card. For videomakers this might be a problem, but there are other dongles for that too lol. You can find the Desert West here.
