Turning back the clock on climate change is a battle fought on many fronts. While we’re switching over to sustainable energy sources, there still needs to be done with the emissions that being poured into our air now. One researcher has developed a powder that can capture emissions keeping them out of the air and shows some promise.
The powder is made of carbon spheres which have many, little pores that can capture CO2 from the air and hold. The powder, once used, will still need to be buried underground to ensure that the CO2 does not escape into the atmosphere.
The new substance is not expensive and can be used in many developing nations to help offset their emissions. Though it is still under development, it is found to be as effective as early test suggest it may help to keep the air clean as we transition to better energy options.
