UK government plans massive recycling scheme for the future

One would think that since the United Kingdom (UK) is a first-world country with all the benefits that come with that position, the nation would likely have a more environmentally friendly way to dispose of waste. But unfortunately, as things stand that’s definitely not the case. But change is at hand.

According to a report from SkyNews, Environment Secretary Michael Gove is preparing to publish details on the government’s plan to put a renewed focus into recycling come next week.

The plan should include a deposit-return scheme for plastic bottles and other forms of plastic. Additionally the new scheme will also include cans and glass containers, where consumers must again pay a small deposit. Consumers will be refunded the deposit once the containers have been returned

This is a huge deal for citizens of the United Kingdom because it could solve many aspects of boosting recycling rates and cutting waste.

At the end of the day, for this plan to succeed, the citizens will have to follow the rules and at least have some care for the environment. Now all we need is as many other countries as possible to follow this lead.
