Electric Passenger Bus – this bus has zero emissions and is coming to zip you around campus

When we think of electric vehicles, it’s mostly cars but that might change in the future as NTU Singapore have launched the first full size electric bus and it’s autonomous to boot. This new vehicle has been a few years in the making but it’s finally ready to roll out.

The bus is 12 meters long and can hold nearly 80 passengers across 36 seats. Shared travel options, like buses, are already better than driving single cars but this one tops that as there are zero emissions. For those nervous about someone hijacking the bus ala Speed, but for the tech age, don’t worry, it’s been safeguarded with cybersecurity measures to stop that exact thing.

The bus will only be driving around NTU at first but as it proves itself, they’ll extend the route. Eventually the plan is to, of course, get this thing everywhere but for right now, it’s still in the testing stage so it will be a while before we see these out and around.
