Longer Allergy Seasons – all thanks to climate change

If you needed yet another reason to fight against climate change, here’s one that should get you ready to do what it takes to press back against this scourge: it’s making our allergy seasons worse. That’s right, the warming climate is also why you’re sneezing with itchy eyes even longer each year.

It’s really simple. The amount of carbon dioxide in the air is actually encoraging the production of more pollen. Pollen, as it turns out, is becoming pretty impossible to avoid throughout the year, except in winter but who knows how long that will last. Even people who have mild symptoms are reporting upticks attacks thanks to the changing climate.

It’s pretty impossible to avoid pollen now. Its rising up earlier in the year and lasting longer. In places where climate change is hitting the land hard, allergies are right behind it. For many people such attacks are just uncomfortable but for some they can be life threatening. Just one more way that climate change is effecting us all.
