Fake Meat? – when is lab grown coming?

Cutting down on meat or even cutting it out altogether is a simple way to reduce your carbon footprint. Simple in thought, not always in action. There are a ton of meat alternatives on the market but will lab grown meat ever be viable?

There are a few companies that are working on actual lab grown meat, not veggie substitutes, which are already out on the market for purchase. The problem with lab grown meat is that it’s a long process and it has to go through stringent government guidelines meaning this won’t solve the crisis anytime soon.

Still there are quite a few vegan or vegetarian options out there and although they might not qualify as meat really, but they’re pretty close mimics and it wouldn’t hurt to swap them in from time to time if you’re looking for a way to help lower you carbon footprint.
