Construction is one of the sectors that we are looking towards cutting their emissions but as it turns out they may not be the most forthcoming with information on how well they’re doing with new emission goals. Still, cutting down on emissions may end up saving them money in the end.
Turns out that some moves that cut down emissions in construction may also go into saving them money in the long run which is an extra incentive to start implementing greener practices now. After all, it’s pretty much a win/win.
That being said, the damage that construction does isn’t really being captured and like most things, more attention needs to be paid to the total process, not just the most obvious parts of it. Going forward, fields like construction need to be held more accountable to the contribution to climate change.
