Sweltering Temps at Arctic Circle – new numbers show effects of climate change

Climate change is a sort of mental exercise for most people. Sure it’s hot but you don’t really notice how hot. Unless you see that it got into the mid 80s near the Arctic Ocean which is not the sort of temperature you would want for that area.

The average high temp for the area is a moderate 54 degrees. That puts this high a full 30 degrees above where it should have been. This coupled with the carbon dioxide reading for today, the highest it’s ever been at 415 ppm, point to the overwhelming effects of climate change on our world.

It’s getting really warm out there! Although cutting down on emissions won’t solve the problem overnight, it would be nice if we could start to see a downward trend in these numbers.
