Too Hot To Sweat – climate change will make parts of the planet uninhabitable, soon

Humans can survive in a lot of varied climates but our ability to survive the heat may be meeting its limits in some places. Not because it’s too hot but because it’s (just) too hot but the humidity. Turns out a wet heat really is worse than a dry heat.

You’ve heard, “It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity.” Well that’s correct and at really extreme reaches, the humidity is the killer. In order to cool down, our bodies need to sweat and that sweat needs to evaporate. In weather where the humility has reached it’s peak, your sweat doesn’t evaporate.

It doesn’t matter how much you drink at that point, your body is heating up internally and you will only last a few hours. This issue is already starting to affect parts of the world. This is scary but it’s the perfect example of why we need to start taking climate change seriously today!
