Electric cars are the future right? Well, try this thought on for size. What if if the future is no cars at all? For a more sustainable future, the answer might be in less people having cars at all and more reliance on other modes of transportation.
Not having a car isn’t feasible for everyone. For those folks, obviously owning an electric vehicle would be the better option for people who can, it might be a good time to think about ditching the cars altogether. Instead we should try to rely more on walking, cycling, ride sharing, and public transportation. This is obviously more feasible for those that live in urban areas.
The solution seems easy but it isn’t. More has to be done to increase the infrastructure to make these other, greener options more feasible to the public. More needs to be done to meet emission goals but in the meantime, perhaps start thinking about your next car being nothing at all.
