We’re all getting really used to the heat waves. Which, on one hand, we should so that we can better deal with them but on the other, it’s making us way less aware of why they are happening. As we become acclimated to the heat, it’s important that we remember why it’s happening. Climate change, and lets all keep in mind that’s bad.

The way weather is reported tends not to focus on the worrying trends and effects of the weather. After all, unless it’s an imminent emergency such as a hurricane or flood, no one wants to go through their day being reminded that the world is on fire. So it’s treated as any normal weather report. Uncomfortable, sure but stay hydrated and try to stay cool.

Scientists think that news reporters should do more to remind the public that climate change is a real issue that will get worse so that we all don’t fall into a false sense of security about things.
