Facebook Buys Wind Power – social media company locks in deal for chunk of renewable energy

Social media uses a lot of power. Those servers full of baby pictures and memes aren’t running on sunshine and good will, they need energy. Facebook has signed up to by 200-megawatts worth of power from Aviator Wind.

Facebook was the largest corporate buyer of renewable power for 2018, they even beat Google! So this isn’t exactly a deal out of the blue. The Aviator Wind project is set to become the the largest single site wind farm in the US but won’t be completed for another year.

More and more companies are turning to renewable companies for their power sources which is great news. The more renewable power we use, the better off everyone will be.
