Half Emissions In Ten Years – renewable energy and an end to deforestation

The climate crisis can seem daunting. There’s a lot of bad news and scary outlooks that come with it but there’s good news too. The good news is that with work, we can half the amount of emissions in the next decade using things that already exist.

Solar and wind power should be scaled up to replace resources like coal for energy. We’re already building the infrastructure for it and for many areas, these resources are cheaper than the traditional fossil fuel options.

Another key component is lowering and stopping deforestation as well as better land management over all. Our trees and soil are so, so important in fighting climate change and if we destroy them, we won’t have them. Many social movements have already sprung up to support these goals so if the momentum keeps going forward, we can see some promising results in the coming years.
