Although the phrase “climate change” may be a bit newer the idea of making changes to avoid man made environmental disasters is not, so why is the momentum behind them so different from the 70s and 80s? Well, the short answer is because climate change isn’t as “exciting”.
In this interesting interview with Susan Solomon, known for her Antarctic expeditions that helped to shine some light on the hole in the ozone, shared her thoughts on the matter. From what she can see, climate change is much slower and to compound that, the changes we need to make are much more drastic.
How individuals handle this is going to be different for every person but the government can take a page from history and enact legislation that pushes change towards greener futures.
