Bio Plant – the plate made from banana leaves

There are going to come times in our lives that disposable dishes just make more sense. After all you’re not going to want to bring real plates to the park BBQ. Or hand one over as someone’s plate to take home. The Bio Plant can be the futures answer to single use plates.

These plates are made from banana leaves, paper, and cardboard. The final product degrades naturally in sixty or less days. They can be used for everything that plastic and Styrofoam plates can be used for including wet foods like stew and ice cream.

They are just as sturdy and can be thrown into the compost pile when you’re done. As of right now they are still in development for commercial use and aren’t available to consumers but there are many eco-friendly options on the market so maybe look into them before your next cook out.
